La taquicardia se define como la frecuencia cardíaca más rápida de lo normal cuando estamos en reposo, normalmente superior a las 100 pulsaciones por minuto. Puede ser peligrosa dependiendo de la causa subyacente y del nivel de esfuerzo que necesite el corazón para trabajar.
¿Qué es la angina de pecho?
La Angina de Pecho (AP) es, junto con el Infarto de Miocardio (IM), un tipo de Cardiopatía Isquémica (CI), es decir, una enfermedad provocada por el deterioro y la obstrucción de las arterias del corazón (arteriosclerosis coronaria). Se produce debido a la acumulación de placas de colesterol, lípidos (grasas) y células inflamatorias en las paredes de estas arterias, provocando que el corazón no reciba sangre suficiente. La AP, a diferencia del Infarto de Miocardio (IM), aparece de forma progresiva, debido a la obstrucción parcial del riego sanguíneo, fruto del deterioro de las arterias del corazón con el paso de los años. No provoca un daño permanente en el corazón.
